2011 RECAP - FIRST AND SECOND QUARTER 2012 OUTLOOK

2011 was an extremely busy and productive year for Entertainment On Location and 2012 should be even busier!!

In 2011 we completed a number of two major consulting projects; including one for the Philadelphia Parks Department and one for the Mayor's Office of Special Events in Lancaster, PA. We also continued administering a grant on behalf of Temple University's Event Leadership Certificate program which has enabled us to develop and present a training program for Festival and Event leaders from throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Ira taught undergraduate level special events management classes at Temple University in both the spring and fall semester ands also supervised 10 senior class interns as they executed their semester long culminating undergraduate experience. He continues on a consulting project for the University to develop and grow their International Festivals and Events Association (IFEA) Gold Pinnacle award-winning Event Leadership Certificate program. He also taught a one credit graduate course at George Washington University in Washington, DC in October.

Ira has traveled extensively throughout the year so far, and has pitched a number of new projects in exotic locations around the world, including the development of training programs in Trinidad and potential production projects in Jamaica. Additionally, he was a featured speaker at the Festivals and Events Ontario Conference in Toronto, and he served on the planning committee for both the Pennsylvania Association of Convention and Visitors Bureau Conference in Harrisburg, PA and the New Jersey Governor’s Tourism Conference in Atlantic City. June brought a great trip to Dubai to conduct certification training programs for governmental event agencies.

Additionally, when we continued our relationships as Production Managers for both Wawa Welcome America and the Gettysburg Festival. We also produced a very successful event in November: the Tenth Anniversary Gala for the Independence Visitor Center in Philadelphia. This project was especially rewarding, as we produced the Center’s Grand Opening in 2001. This major event will take place in November.

We worked very closely with Wawa on the introduction of their brand into the Orlando market and did their first Florida store ground breaking event.

In addition to all of our production and consulting work, Ira continues to serve on the New Jersey Travel Industry Association (NJTIA) Board of Directors, the Executive Committee for the Philadelphia International Flower Show and the Planning Committee for the New Jersey Governor's Tourism Conference.

Early 2012 has us working on our continuing relationships with Wawa, the Gettysburg Festival, IFEA and others. Additionally, we have recently been hired as the Production Management company for the 2012 Philadelphia International Flower Show. This show is the largest of its kind in the world and we are excited about the opportunity.

In July, Wawa plans to open 6 stores in Orlando and we will be coordinating those events for them, as well as coordinating the brand launch in Tampa and St. Petersburg, Florida.

Ira will again be teaching Event management at Temple University and continues to sit on many boards and planning committees. He will be starting a three year term as board member for the IFEA Foundation.

Current training seminars include one for the National recreation and Parks Association at Oglebay Resort in Wheeling, WV and one for the Ohio Parks and Recreation Association in Sandusky.
